Target ® Sponsors the Fair Housing Five!

Exciting news! GNOFHAC has received a grant from Target® to lead numerous Fair Housing Five workshops with any youth camp or organization across the greater New Orleans area this summer. With this generous grant, GNOFHAC will be able to distribute our original children’s book to the youth organizations and lead the workshops for free.

These workshops will involve a reading of The Fair Housing Five & The Haunted House, an original children’s book about housing discrimination and civil rights. Students will also engage in a discussion on discrimination, equity, and fairness, and then have the opportunity to engage in a creative activity. After the discussion, students will either write their own stories of discrimination, make community maps of their dream neighborhood, or create a fair housing poster to educate their families and friends.

If you are interested in having a workshop at your summer camp, youth organization, religious summer program, or summer school that serves students in 1st through 6th grade, please contact Education and Outreach Director, Sophie Rosen at or by calling (504) 596-2100 ext. 109.
