NEW ORLEANS – Today, Greater New Orleans Fair Housing Action Center (GNOFHAC) Executive Director Cashauna Hill joined U.S. President Barack Obama, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, and a small group of community advocates at a roundtable discussion of ongoing challenges facing the City of New Orleans.
The President, who is in town to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Katrina met with the group in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward.
After meeting with the President, Cashauna Hill remarked “We are a city that values equal access to opportunity and life success, and we are grateful that President Obama has come to New Orleans to demonstrate that he is a willing partner in these efforts. Our challenge, 10 years post-Katrina, is to live up to this promise and expand the geography of opportunity to all New Orleans neighborhoods. We must ensure that everyone has a chance to return home and participate in New Orleanians’ recovery.”
