Join us as we commemorate the signing of the Fair Housing Act this month with a series of events meant to build community, educate, and celebrate housing justice!
Community Crawfish Boil
We’re so excited to announce that LaFHAC is hosting our first Community Crawfish Boil since 2019! We celebrate Fair Housing Month every April to commemorate the passage of the Fair Housing Act – this year marks the 55th anniversary. The boil will be held on Monday, April 17th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at 1024 Elysian Fields Avenue in New Orleans. The event is free and open to the public and we’ll have beer available by donation. We hope you’ll mark your calendar and plan to join us! Please RSVP to the Facebook event here so we know how many people to expect.
Fair Housing Trivia
We started doing Fair Housing Month trivia as a way to bring our network together virtually during the pandemic. We’re excited to have this event in person this year! Fair Housing Trivia will be held on Friday, April 21st from 5:30 – 7 pm at Twelve Mile Limit at 500 S. Telemachus St. in New Orleans. The event will be outdoors as a COVID safety precaution. Come show off your smarts, meet others in our network, and enjoy food by Third Wheel. Please RSVP to the Facebook event here so we know how many people to expect.
Fair Housing Webinars for Renters & Small Landlords
We’re hosting a free Know Your Housing Rights webinar on April 13th from 5:30 – 6:30 pm.
