An Important Update from Cashauna Hill, LaFHAC’s Executive Director

Dear friends,

After more than 8 successful years as Executive Director of LaFHAC, I’ll be ending my time with the organization to pursue another opportunity. It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve in this role and to work in community with all of you.

I’m so grateful for all that I’ve learned in my time at LaFHAC, and I continue to be inspired by the talent and dedication of our community, partners, staff, testers, board and volunteers, as well as by the courage of our clients. We’ve accomplished so much together, from historic policy wins like ensuring that everyone facing eviction in New Orleans has access to an attorney and finally ensuring that Louisiana’s landlord-tenant law includes penalties for landlords who illegally evict tenants , to conducting groundbreaking investigations into the widespread and damaging housing discrimination that happens day in and day out across our state, to countless wins in court for our clients and community.

LaFHAC’s board and staff are working hard to ensure a smooth transition, and I have no doubt that the organization will continue to grow and thrive under their leadership. The board has begun the search for a new Executive Director who can lead the organization through its next phase and they would appreciate your help in sharing information about the position far and wide!

I will always be thankful for – and honored by – having been trusted to lead LaFHAC during a crucial phase in the fight for housing justice across Louisiana. I won’t be going far; in my next role leading the Redress Movement, I’ll remain in New Orleans and will look forward to supporting LaFHAC’s work. I’m confident that LaFHAC is in capable hands and I’m excited to see the work continue.

In gratitude,

Cashauna
