This special election is to replace five state legislators who have either accepted a new role in an elected office or left their seat.
Those legislators include State Senator Dr. Joseph Bouie, Jr. (State Senate District 3), State Representative Troy Romero (State Representative District 37), State Representative Chad Brown (State Representative 60), State Representative Jason Hugh (State Representative District 97), and State Representative Matthew Willard (State Representative District 100).

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. on Election Day, Saturday, February 7th. Anyone in line at 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote. Voters should bring an ID with them to vote (Louisiana driver’s license, Louisiana Special ID card, a generally recognized picture identification card with name and signature such as a passport, or a digital license via LA Wallet).
