$50M on City Cars and Not Enough on Community Needs

Despite spending $50M on gas guzzlers and Fast and the Furious-style muscle cars that violate the City’s own “green fleet” ordinance, the City of New Orleans still has plenty of remaining surplus funds for the Big Easy Budget Coalition priorities, including millions for affordable housing. LaFHAC is working with this coalition to advocate that this money be spent on community investments that will address the root causes of crime and violence and assist those most impacted by the pandemic.
